The UK College of Family Mediators has received a number of requests for use of the UKC Logo on letterheading, brochures and other literature. It is very happy with this if it will help promote family mediation. Equally, for the maintenance of high standards, there are some conditions for its use which the UKC does not consider practices or services will find onerous yet will give protection to the public. UKC members may use the UKC Logo on letter heading and other written material in the following circumstances:
- All mediators who undertake family mediation in the practice or service with the letterheading etc using the logo are members of UKC.
- All clients are informed of the availability, on request, from the mediator of a copy of the UKC Code of Practice and Complaints Procedure. (This is available in a small version, easily sent to clients at the outset.)
- Only the Logo approved from time to time by UKC is used
- It is no larger or ostentatious than other similar logos e.g. Approved Bodies, Resolution, LSC franchise etc.
- It is used in a manner which preserves the dignity of the College and the profession of mediation.
- All family mediation is carried out in accordance (at least) with the standards set out in the UKC Code of Practice.
In case of doubt over usage, reference should be made in the first instance to the UK College Director. Members should send the UKC Office a formatted but otherwise unused floppy or e-mail address for the graphics.
Use of the logo will be deemed acceptance of these terms.
Approved by the Executive Committee of the UK College of Family Mediators, 26 June 2000.
