The College of Mediators aims to promote and inform the public about good quality mediation provision. We also aim to support those working and training as mediators to progress in their mediation profession. To this end we offer a range of membership options to individual mediators:

  • Junior Mediator - (J.M.C.M)

This is for peer mediators of school age who have attended a College recognised training course

  • Trained Mediator - (T.M.C.M - Previously known as standard membership)

These are adult mediators who have successfully attended a College recognised training course

  • Approved Mediator - (A.M.C.M. - Previously known as Recognised membership)

These are Trained Mediators who have in addition completed a College Approved competence assessment process

and coming soon:

  • Advanced Practitioner (Fellow of the College of Mediators – F.C.M)

This will be awarded to Approved Mediators with lengthy experience who are able to demonstrate a high level of expertise.

We are currently agreeing requirements for the Advanced Practitioner scheme and hope to make it available very soon. Please contact us with any queries.

We now also offer Organisation Affiliation to mediation organisations who use practicing College Mediators and who meet the College's quality standards for organisations.
